Keynote profiles – Lyssa Adkins & Michael Spayd

Co-founders of the Agile Coaching Institute which provides a rich programme of training, mentoring and thought leadership, Lyssa and Michael help take the world of Agile coaching to a new level of potential and professional rigour.

Lyssa Adkins looking rightSince 2004, Lyssa has taught Scrum and Agile coaching to 1000+ students, coached many Agile teams and served as a master coach to scores of apprentice coaches. She holds a number of certifications including Certified Scrum Coach (CSC), ICAgile Expert in Agile Coaching (ICE-AC), SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) and Six Sigma Green Belt (SSGB). She is author of Coaching Agile Teams: A Companion for ScrumMasters, Agile Coaches and Project Managers in Transition.

 

Michael SpaydMichael’s work is all about transformation, particularly large-scale Agile transformations. He is wired to help people and systems change and is drawn to cutting-edge ‘technologies’ for coaching and developing organisations, leaders and teams. Formal credentials include Certified Organization and Relationship Systems Coach (ORSCC), Certified Professional Facilitator (CPF), ICE-AC, SPC and CSM. His book Coaching the Agile Enterprise will be published later this year.

About AgileNZ Conference

Following the success of the 2015 Conference, we ran a series of retrospectives and an Impact Mapping session to assess the core purpose, objectives and strengths of the Conference. We also assessed our understanding of the values and needs of the Agile community, which to us is the heartbeat of Agile. We came to an important understanding – that the community is extremely good at grass roots engagement but often lacks the funding and scale to engage international speakers and run a conference of the size of AgileNZ. Assurity Consulting (I am Assurity’s GM for Auckland) provides these things and takes on board all the event risk. Assurity's focus has been – and always will be – 'to deliver the framework for the community to engage'. If you’ve been to Conference before, you’ll understand the effort and organisation that goes into using that framework to make the event so successful. In 2016, we’re committing to creating a community-based Speaker Submissions Panel. In addition, I’d love to hear about any ideas you have to continue growing this exception community event.
